In Thursday's non-league game, the Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC) football team knocked off the visiting Freedom Patriots (Morganton, NC), by a score of 38-22.

The Pioneers (8-0) will now prepare for their game against Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC). The Huskies come into the non-league game with a 1-7 record. In their last game, Ashe County was dropped by South Caldwell (Hudson, NC), 26-6, in a non-league game.

The Patriots now sport a 6-3 record. They take the field next when they host Alexander Central for a non-league game on Thursday, October 26.
