September 28, 2023: Hudson, NC 28638 The South Caldwell Spartans football team (Hudson, NC), was beaten 30-20 in Thursday's non-league challenge with the visiting Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC)
The Pioneers (5-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Alexander Central (Taylorsville, NC). The Cougars come into the non-league challenge with a 5-1 record. In their last challenge, Alexander Central achieved victory over Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC), 48-8, in a league challenge.
The Spartans now sport a 1-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Freedom for a non-league challenge on Thursday, October 5. South Caldwell will meet a Patriots team coming off a 27-21 non-league loss to Hibriten (Lenoir, NC). The Patriots record now stands at 4-2.
