October 2, 2023: New Roads, LA 70760 East Ascension Spartans (Gonzales, LA) supporters left the game in high spirits Monday as they observed their volleyball squad top the host Catholic of Pointe Coupee Hornets (New Roads, LA), 3-0 in a non-league match.
Next up, the Spartans clash with the Baton Rouge Bulldogs (Baton Rouge, LA) in a non-league match, on Tuesday, October 3. East Ascension will attempt to advance on its 16-15 season record. The Bulldogs come into the match with a 9-7 record after their 3-1 non-league loss to Episcopal (Baton Rouge, LA).
With the loss, Catholic of Pointe Coupee drops to 8-12 on the campaign. The Hornets host False River (New Roads, LA) to clash with the Gators in a Division V District 3 match on Tuesday, October 3.
