North Carolina High School Soccer - Highlands knocks off Cherokee
October 20, 2022: Highlands, NC 28741 Highlands Highlanders (Highlands, NC) fans were thrilled Thursday as they observed their soccer team triumph over the visiting Cherokee Braves (Cherokee, NC), 6-0 in a league challenge.
Next, the Highlanders face the Swain County Maroon Devils (Bryson City, NC) in a Smoky Mountain 1A challenge, on Monday, October 24. Highlands will attempt to better on its 10-3 season record. The Maroon Devils enter the challenge with a 11-9 record after their 2-0 league loss to Blue Ridge Early College (Cashiers, NC).
The Braves now have a 3-10 record. They take the field next when they host Blue Ridge Early College for a Smoky Mountain 1A test on Monday, October 24. Cherokee will meet a Bobcats squad coming off a 2-0 league win over Swain County (Bryson City, NC). The Bobcats record now stands at 11-3.
