October 21, 2022: Taylorsville, NC 28681 The Alexander Central Cougars football team (Taylorsville, NC), was beaten 28-17 in Friday's league challenge with the visiting Hibriten Panthers (Lenoir, NC)
The Panthers (4-5) will now prepare for their challenge against South Caldwell (Hudson, NC). The Spartans come into the 3A/4A West Conference 52 challenge with a 4-5 record. In their last challenge, South Caldwell was beaten by Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC), 56-48, in a league challenge.
The Cougars now sport a 4-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Freedom for a 3A/4A West Conference 52 challenge on Friday, October 28. Alexander Central will meet a Patriots team coming off a 49-14 league loss to Watauga (Boone, NC). The Patriots record now stands at 5-4.
