The Howard Lions football team (Ellicott City, MD), was topped 38-7 in Friday's league bout with the host Guilford Park Panther (Jessup, MD)

With the win, Guilford Park advances its record to 8-0 on the season. The Panther travel to Long Reach (Columbia, MD) to confront the Lightning in a Class 2A West contest on Friday, October 31. The Lightning go into the battle with a record of 3-5. Long Reach lost 40-3 in their recent league battle against Glenelg (Glenelg, MD)

The Lions now own a 6-2 record. They play next when they host Oakland Mills for a Class 2A West battle on Thursday, October 30. Howard will encounter a Scorpions team coming off a 43-13 non-league win over Atholton (Columbia, MD). The Scorpions record now stands at 7-1.
