The Union Academy Cardinals football squad scored 45 points and limited the visiting Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy Gryphons to 19 in the Cardinals league triumph on Friday.

The Cardinals now sport a 4-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to North Stanly for a Yadkin Valley 2A/3A game on Friday, October 31. Union Academy will face a Comets team coming off a 55-6 league win over Bonnie Cone Leadership Academy (Huntersville, NC). The Comets record now stands at 8-1.

The Gryphons (3-6) will now prepare for their game against Bonnie Cone Leadership Academy (Huntersville, NC). The Eagles enter the Yadkin Valley 2A/3A game with a 0-9 record. In their last outing, Bonnie Cone Leadership Academy was knocked off by North Stanly (New London, NC), 55-6, in a league outing.
