In Friday's non-league challenge, the host Lathrop Malemutes volleyball team scored a 2-0 triumph over the Mountain City Christian Academy Lions.

The Malemutes (14-19) will now prepare for their challenge against Juneau-Douglas (Juneau, AK). The Crimson Bears come into the non-league challenge with a 19-13 record. In their last challenge, Juneau-Douglas lost by Bettye Davis East Anchorage (Anchorage, AK), 3-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Lions play the Dimond Lynx (Anchorage, AK) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, October 24. Mountain City Christian Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 17-18 season record. The Lynx go into the test with a 21-9 record after their 3-0 league win over West Anchorage (Anchorage, AK).
