The crowd at Friday's league contest between the New Hope Trojans (Columbus, MS) and the host Clarksdale Wildcats (Clarksdale, MS), witnessed New Hope's football squad knock off Clarksdale by a tally of 36-20.

The Trojans (7-1) will now prepare for their contest against Lafayette (Oxford, MS). The Commodores enter the 5A Region 1 contest with a 0-8 record. In their last contest, Lafayette was toppled by West Point (West Point, MS), 41-11, in a league contest.

Coming up next, the Wildcats battle the Corinth Warriors (Corinth, MS) in a 5A Region 1 contest, on Friday, November 1. Clarksdale will attempt to better on its 4-6 season record. The Warriors enter the contest with a 4-4 record after their 35-16 league win over Pontotoc (Pontotoc, MS).
