Ohio High School Football - Anderson trounces Turpin
October 3, 2025: Cincinnati, OH 45244 In Friday's league match, the visiting Anderson Raptors football squad scored a decisive 58-16 triumph over the Turpin Spartans.
The Raptors (7-0) will now prepare for their battle against Walnut Hills (Cincinnati, OH). The Eagles go into the Eastern Cincinnati battle with a 2-5 record. In their last battle, Walnut Hills walloped West Clermont (Cincinnati, OH), 34-21, in a league battle.
The Spartans now have a 4-3 record. They play next when they travel to Lebanon for a Eastern Cincinnati battle on Friday, October 10. Turpin will play a Warriors team coming off a 37-21 league win over Milford (Milford, OH). The Warriors record now stands at 5-2.
First Quarter
Anderson got on the board first with a 32-yard touchdown pass from Owen Scalf to Cooper Kathman. Turpin responded with a 4-yard touchdown run from Holden Gerth, but the extra point would be no good. The Raptors held a 7-6 lead after one quarter.
Second Quarter
Turpin would take the lead on a 30-yard field goal from Addi Braun less than two minutes into the second quarter. The Raptors regained the lead a few minutes later when Jordan Davis scored on a 16-yard run and Owen Scalf found Cooper Kathman on the two point conversion. Anderson would quickly score again on their next possession when Tysin Weaver caught a 39-yard touchdown pass from Scalf. Scalf would catch a pass on the two-point conversion to give the Raptors a 23-9 lead. Turpin linebacker Brody Nickerson intercepted a pass and set the Spartans up with great field position a few minutes later. Turpin capitalized with a nine-yard touchdown run from quarterback Luke Mileham with 33 seconds left to go in the half. Anderson held a 23-16 advantage heading into the locker room.
Third Quarter
Anderson would go on a scoring clinic in the second half, while Turpin would be held scoreless. Tysin Weaver caught a 36-yard touchdown pass early in the third quarter. Jordan Davis added to the lead with a 20-yard touchdown reception. Scalf found Weaver again on a 15-yard touchdown to give the Raptors a commanding 44-16 lead after three quarters.
Fourth Quarter
Owen Scalf scored on a one-yard run near the halfway point of the fourth quarter. Ke’Maury Tye had a 69-yard punt return for a touchdown with under a minute left to go in the game to cap the 58-16 win for the Raptors.
