In Friday's non-league match, the host Winona Christian Stars football squad scored a decisive 42-6 victory over the Carroll Academy Rebels.

The Stars (5-2) will now prepare for their match against Kirk Academy (Grenada, MS). The Raiders enter the non-league match with a 3-3 record. In their last match, Kirk Academy routed Manchester Academy (Yazoo City, MS), 62-29, in a non-league battle.

The Rebels now own a 3-4 record. They play next when they travel to Indianola Academy for a MAIS 2A District 2 battle on Friday, October 10. Carroll Academy will play a Colonels team coming off a 35-13 league loss to St. Joseph (Greenville, MS). The Colonels record now stands at 2-5.
