October 3, 2025: Mt. Vernon, IA 52314 The crowd at Friday's league contest between the Mt. Vernon Mustangs (Mt. Vernon, IA) and the visiting Center Point-Urbana Stormin' Pointers (Center Point, IA), witnessed Mt. Vernon's football squad knock off Center Point-Urbana by a tally of 34-14.
The Mustangs (5-1) will now prepare for their contest against Central Clinton (DeWitt, IA). The Sabers enter the non-league contest with a 1-0 record. In their last contest, Central Clinton gained a win over Davenport West (Davenport, IA), 42-6, in a non-league contest.
Coming up next, the Stormin' Pointers confront the Maquoketa Cardinals (Maquoketa, IA) in a 3A District 3 contest, on Friday, October 10. Center Point-Urbana will attempt to better on its 1-5 season record. The Cardinals enter the contest with a 1-5 record after their 42-7 league loss to Assumption (Davenport, IA).
