In Friday's league match, the host Commerce Tigers football squad scored a good 50-31 victory over the Malakoff Tigers.

The Tigers (4-1) will now prepare for their battle against Mineola (Mineola, TX). The Yellowjackets go into the 3A-1 Region II District 7 battle with a 2-4 record.

The Tigers now own a 2-3 record. They play next when they host Mineola for a 3A-1 Region II District 7 battle on Friday, October 10. Malakoff will play a Yellowjackets team coming off a 47-30 league loss to Winnsboro (Winnsboro, TX). The Yellowjackets record now stands at 2-4.
