New Mexico High School Football - Melrose trounces Gateway Christian
October 3, 2025: Melrose, NM 88124 In Friday's league challenge, the host Melrose Buffaloes football team scored a big 48-6 win over the Gateway Christian Warriors.
In their next game, the Buffaloes play the Mescalero Apache Chiefs (Mescalero, NM) in a 8-Man District 3 (8 Man) challenge, on Friday, October 10. Melrose will attempt to improve on its 5-2 season record. The Chiefs go into the challenge with a 1-5 record after their 52-0 league loss to Lordsburg (Lordsburg, NM).
The Warriors (3-3) will now prepare for their test against Tatum (Tatum, NM). The Coyotes come into the 8-Man District 3 (8 Man) test with a 6-1 record. In their last test, Tatum triumphed over Mesilla Valley Christian School (Las Cruces, NM), 38-28, in a league test.
