In Friday's league match, the host Lanett Panthers football squad scored a close 20-19 victory over the Reeltown Rebels.

The Panthers (5-2) will now prepare for their match against Central of Coosa County (Rockford, AL). The Cougars enter the 2A Region 4 match with a 3-4 record. In their last battle, Central of Coosa County was tipped by Loachapoka (Loachapoka, AL), 58-6, in a league battle.

The Rebels now own a 5-2 record. They play next when they travel to LaFayette for a 2A Region 4 battle on Friday, October 10. Reeltown will play a Bulldogs team coming off a 24-20 non-league loss to Red Level (Red Level, AL). The Bulldogs record now stands at 2-4.
