Virginia High School Football - Staunton River thwarted by William Byrd
October 31, 2024: Vinton, VA 24179 William Byrd Terriers (Vinton, VA) followers went home in high spirits Thursday as they saw their football team achieve victory over the visiting Staunton River Golden Eagles (Moneta, VA), 28-8 in a non-league battle.
With the win, William Byrd advances its record to 8-1 on the season. The Terriers travel to Northside (Roanoke, VA) to play the Vikings in a battle on Thursday, November 7. The Vikings go into the battle with a record of 3-5. Northside lost 43-22 in their recent non-league battle against Lord Botetourt (Daleville, VA)
The Golden Eagles now own a 4-4 record. They play next when they host George Washington for a non-league battle on Monday, November 4. Staunton River will play a Eagles team coming off a 44-8 league win over Mecklenburg County (Baskerville, VA). The Eagles record now stands at 5-3.
