The Nelson County Governors (Lovingston, VA) football knocked off the host Chatham Cavaliers (Chatham, VA), 29-12 in Friday's league outing.

The Governors now sport a 5-4 record. They take the field next when they host Appomattox County for a Dogwood outing on Friday, November 7. Nelson County will battle a Raiders team coming off a 30-22 league loss to Gretna (Gretna, VA). The Raiders record now stands at 5-4.

The Cavaliers (3-6) will now prepare for their game against Dan River (Ringgold, VA). The Wildcats enter the Dogwood game with a 4-5 record. In their last game, Dan River notched a victory over Nelson County (Lovingston, VA), 28-14, in a league game.
