North Carolina High School Football - Elkin can't hold off Forbush

October 4, 2024: East Bend, NC 27018

Forbush Falcons (East Bend, NC) fans went home in high spirits Friday as they saw their football team tip the visiting Elkin Buckin' Elks (Elkin, NC), 22-21 in a non-league battle.

With the win, Forbush improves its record to 2-5 on the season. The Falcons travel to East Surry (Pilot Mountain, NC) to play the Cardinals in a 2A Foothills battle on Friday, October 11. The Cardinals go into the battle with a record of 3-2. East Surry won 61-14 in their recent league contest against Wilkes Central (Wilkesboro, NC)

Coming up next, the Buckin' Elks battle the East Wilkes Cardinals (Ronda, NC) in a Northwest 1A contest, on Friday, October 11. Elkin will attempt to better on its 2-4 season record. The Cardinals enter the contest with a 4-1 record after their 28-13 league loss to Mount Airy (Mount Airy, NC).
