West Wilkes Blackhawks (Millers Creek, NC) followers went home in high spirits Friday as they saw their football team achieve victory over the host Forbush Falcons (East Bend, NC), 20-12 in a league battle.

With the win, West Wilkes advances its record to 2-3 on the season. The Blackhawks host East Surry (Pilot Mountain, NC) to play the Cardinals in a 2A Foothills battle on Friday, September 27. The Cardinals go into the battle with a record of 2-2. East Surry won 48-3 in their recent non-league battle against South Stokes (Walnut Cove, NC)

The Falcons now own a 1-4 record. They play next when they travel to North Surry for a 2A Foothills battle on Friday, September 27. Forbush will play a Greyhounds team coming off a 47-21 league win over Wilkes Central (Wilkesboro, NC). The Greyhounds record now stands at 3-2.
