The crowd at Friday's non-league contest between the James Monroe Mavericks (Lindside, WV) and the host Summers County Bobcats (Hinton, WV), witnessed James Monroe's football squad wallop Summers County by a tally of 54-8.

The Mavericks (4-2) will now prepare for their contest against Greenbrier West (Charmco, WV). The Cavaliers enter the Coalfield A contest with a 4-2 record. In their last contest, Greenbrier West was trounced by Fort Frye (Beverly, OH), 27-0, in a non-league contest.

Coming up next, the Bobcats battle the WestSide Renegades (Clear Fork, WV) in a Coalfield AA contest, on Friday, October 18. Summers County will attempt to better on its 2-4 season record.
