Mississippi High School Football - Newton County prevails Northeast Lauderdale
October 4, 2024: Meridian, MS 39305 In Friday's league match, the visiting Newton County Cougars football squad scored a good 38-20 triumph over the Northeast Lauderdale Trojans.
The Cougars (2-5) will now prepare for their match against Choctaw Central (Philadelphia, MS). The Warriors come into the 4A Region 4 match with a 4-1 record. In their last match, Choctaw Central was beaten by Bay Springs (Bay Springs, MS), 26-20, in a non-league match.
Coming up next, the Trojans confront the Leake Central Gators (Carthage, MS) in a 4A Region 4 match, on Friday, October 11. Northeast Lauderdale will attempt to upgrade on its 2-5 season record. The Gators come into the match with a 1-5 record after their 42-14 league loss to West Lauderdale (Collinsville, MS).
