North Carolina High School Volleyball - R-S Central tips East Rutherford

October 6, 2022: Rutherfordton, NC 28139

R-S Central Hilltoppers (Rutherfordton, NC) supporters left the game in high spirits Thursday as they observed their volleyball squad hold off the visiting East Rutherford Cavaliers (Forest City, NC), 3-2 in a league match.

Next up, the Hilltoppers battle the Shelby Golden Lions (Shelby, NC) in a non-league match, on Monday, October 10. R-S Central will attempt to advance on its 9-10 season record. The Golden Lions come into the match with a 4-15 record after their 3-2 league loss to Thomas Jefferson (Mooresboro, NC).

With the loss, East Rutherford moves to 12-8 on the year. The Cavaliers host Polk County (Columbus, NC) to face the Wolverines in a Mountain Foothills Seven 2A contest on Tuesday, October 11. The Wolverines go into the contest with a record of 17-1.
