Illinois High School Soccer - Southwestern toppled by Gibault Catholic
October 7, 2024: Waterloo, IL 62298 Gibault Catholic Hawks (Waterloo, IL) boosters exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they witnessed their soccer team beat the visiting Southwestern Piasa Birds (Piasa, IL), 10-6 in a non-league test.
With the triumph, Gibault Catholic moves its record to 6-10 on the campaign. The Hawks host Althoff Catholic (Belleville, IL) to clash with the Crusaders in a non-league test on Wednesday, October 9. The Crusaders come into the test with a record of 15-4. Althoff Catholic won 2-0 in their recent league test against Maryville Christian (Maryville, IL)
The Piasa Birds now sport a 6-8 record. They take the field next when they host Greenville for a South Central test on Tuesday, October 8. Southwestern will clash with a Comets team coming off a 3-1 non-league win over Lincolnwood (Raymond, IL). The Comets record now stands at 9-9.
