Loyd Star Hornets (Brookhaven, MS) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting North Pike Jaguars (Summit, MS), 80-74 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Loyd Star upgrades its record to 4-1 on the season. The Hornets host Franklin County (Meadville, MS) to play the Bulldogs in a non-league bout on Thursday, November 17. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a record of 5-0. Franklin County won 52-23 in their recent non-league bout against Tylertown (Tylertown, MS)

Next up, the Jaguars play the Forrest County Agricultural Aggies (Brooklyn, MS) in a non-league bout, on Friday, November 18. North Pike will attempt to upgrade on its 0-5 season record.
