The Salmen Spartans basketball team scored 61 points and held the host Covington Lions to 23 in the Spartans non-league triumph on Thursday.

The Spartans now sport a 1-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Hammond for a non-league contest on Monday, November 20. Salmen will meet a Tornadoes team coming off a 41-40 non-league win over Family Christian (Baton Rouge, LA). The Tornadoes record now stands at 1-1.

The Lions (0-1) will now prepare for their contest against Pearl River (Pearl River, LA). The Rebels enter the non-league contest with a 0-2 record.
