Mississippi High School Basketball - Morton overwhelms Newton
November 17, 2022: Morton, MS 39117 Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Morton Panthers (Morton, MS) and the visiting Newton Tigers (Newton, MS), saw Morton's basketball squad wallop Newton by a tally of 53-26.
With the victory, Morton improves its record to 1-0 on the campaign. The Panthers host Franklin County (Meadville, MS) to confront the Bulldogs in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, December 6. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a record of 4-1.
Next up, the Tigers confront the Port Gibson Blue Waves (Port Gibson, MS) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, November 21. Newton will attempt to improve on its 1-2 season record. The Blue Waves come into the challenge with a 1-4 record after their 71-34 non-league loss to Murrah (Jackson, MS).
