Mississippi High School Basketball - Sylva Bay Academy overwhelmed by Wayne Academy
November 17, 2023: Waynesboro, MS 39367 The Wayne Academy Jaguars basketball team scored 50 points and restricted the visiting Sylva Bay Academy Saints to 16 in the Jaguars non-league victory on Friday.
The Jaguars now sport a 4-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Brookhaven Academy for a non-league contest on Monday, November 20. Wayne Academy will battle a Cougars team coming off a 73-51 non-league win over Lamar (Meridian, MS). The Cougars record now stands at 7-2.
With the defeat, Sylva Bay Academy moves to 5-3 on the year. The Saints travel to Mt. Salus Christian (Clinton, MS) to meet the Eagles in a non-league match on Tuesday, November 28. The Eagles enter the match with a record of 2-1. Mt. Salus Christian won 43-37 in their recent non-league match against Sylva Bay Academy (Bay Springs, MS)
