The Avery County Vikings (Newland, NC) basketball knocked off the host Polk County Wolverines (Columbus, NC), 38-29 in Tuesday's non-league test.

The Vikings (2-0) will now prepare for their test against Erwin (Asheville, NC). The Warriors go into the non-league test with a 2-0 record. In their last outing, Erwin defeated Pisgah (Canton, NC), 53-46, in a non-league outing.

The Wolverines now hold a 0-2 record. They play next when they travel to Madison for a non-league outing on Wednesday, December 6.
