Ponte Vedra Sharks (Ponte Vedra, FL) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Matanzas Pirates (Palm Coast, FL), 78-65 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Ponte Vedra upgrades its record to 1-1 on the season. The Sharks host Raines (Jacksonville, FL) to clash with the Vikings in a non-league bout on Thursday, November 30. The Vikings go into the bout with a record of 2-1. Raines won 71-57 in their recent non-league bout against San Jose Prep (Jacksonville, FL)

Next up, the Pirates clash with the Seabreeze Sandcrabs (Daytona Beach, FL) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 1. Matanzas will attempt to upgrade on its 1-4 season record. The Sandcrabs go into the bout with a 2-0 record after their 64-62 non-league win over Beachside (St. Johns, FL).
