Illinois High School Basketball - St. Anthony holds off Salem
November 28, 2023: Salem, IL 62881 Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the St. Anthony Bulldogs (Effingham, IL) and the host Salem Wildcats (Salem, IL), saw St. Anthony's basketball squad hold off Salem by a tally of 42-38.
With the victory, St. Anthony improves its record to 3-2 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host North Clay/Clay City (Louisville, IL) to confront the in a National Trail challenge on Friday, December 1. The come into the challenge with a record of 1-2. North Clay/Clay City lost 59-55 in their recent non-league challenge against Marshall (Marshall, IL)
Next up, the Wildcats confront the Breese Central Cougars (Breese, IL) in a Cahokia - Mississippi challenge, on Friday, December 1. Salem will attempt to improve on its 1-4 season record. The Cougars come into the challenge with a 4-0 record after their 44-30 non-league win over Belleville East (Belleville, IL).
