United South Panthers (Laredo, TX) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Vela Sabercats (Edinburg, TX), 38-23 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, United South upgrades its record to 8-2 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Crystal City (Crystal City, TX) to play the Javelinas in a non-league bout on Thursday, December 1. The Javelinas come into the bout with a record of 4-5. Crystal City won 57-48 in their recent non-league bout against Carrizo Springs (Carrizo Springs, TX)

Next up, the Sabercats play the Veterans Memorial Patriots (San Antonio, TX) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, December 1. Vela will attempt to upgrade on its 2-7 season record. The Patriots come into the bout with a 7-3 record after their 49-38 non-league win over Brandeis (San Antonio, TX).
