The Vinton-Shellsburg Vikings (Vinton, IA) basketball crushed the host Independence Mustangs (Independence, IA), 69-18 in Tuesday's league test.

The Vikings (3-1) will now prepare for their test against Solon (Solon, IA). The Spartans go into the non-league test with a 3-0 record. In their last test, Solon walloped Williamsburg (Williamsburg, IA), 65-41, in a non-league test.

The Mustangs now own a 1-1 record. They play next when they travel to Central City for a non-league test on Monday, December 5. Independence will encounter a Wildcats squad coming off a 41-33 league win over Starmont (Arlington, IA). The Wildcats record now stands at 2-2.
