The Halifax County Comets (South Boston, VA) basketball nipped the host Gretna Hawks (Gretna, VA), 33-29 in Wednesday's non-league test.

The Comets (1-0) will now prepare for their test against Magna Vista (Ridgeway, VA). The Warriors go into the non-league test with a 2-0 record.

The Hawks now own a 0-1 record. They play next when they host Brookville for a non-league test on Monday, December 4.
