Hickory Hawks (Chesapeake, VA) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting First Colonial Patriots (Virginia Beach, VA), 65-47 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Hickory upgrades its record to 1-1 on the season. The Hawks travel to Oscar Smith (Chesapeake, VA) to play the Tigers in a Southeastern bout on Friday, December 8. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 1-0. Oscar Smith won 82-51 in their recent league bout against Grassfield (Chesapeake, VA)

Next up, the Patriots play the Princess Anne Cavaliers (Virginia Beach, VA) in a Beach bout, on Tuesday, December 5. First Colonial will attempt to upgrade on its 0-2 season record.
