Virginia High School Basketball - Hickory can't hold off Great Bridge

January 5, 2024: Chesapeake, VA 23322

The Great Bridge Wildcats basketball team scored 76 points and held the visiting Hickory Hawks to 73 in the Wildcats league triumph on Friday.

The Wildcats now sport a 2-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Norcom for a non-league contest on Saturday, January 6. Great Bridge will battle a Greyhounds team coming off a 53-41 league loss to Churchland (Portsmouth, VA). The Greyhounds record now stands at 2-6.

The Hawks (1-7) will now prepare for their contest against Deep Creek (Chesapeake, VA). The Hornets enter the Southeastern contest with a 3-5 record. In their last contest, Deep Creek was nudged by Booker T. Washington (Norfolk, VA), 77-65, in a non-league contest.
