Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Southern Valley Eagles (Oxford, NE) and the host Minden Whippets (Minden, NE), saw Southern Valley's basketball squad hold off Minden by a tally of 33-26.

With the victory, Southern Valley improves its record to 1-0 on the campaign. The Eagles host Elm Creek (Elm Creek, NE) to confront the Buffaloes in a non-league challenge on Friday, December 1. The Buffaloes come into the challenge with a record of 1-0. Elm Creek won 43-40 in their recent non-league challenge against Shelton (Shelton, NE)

Next up, the Whippets confront the Ogallala Indians (Ogallala, NE) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, December 2. Minden will attempt to improve on its 0-1 season record. The Indians come into the challenge with a 1-0 record after their 61-18 non-league win over Lexington (Lexington, NE).
