The crowd at Friday's non-league contest between the Glenvar Highlanders (Salem, VA) and the visiting Giles Spartans (Pearisburg, VA), observed Glenvar's football squad bounce Giles by a tally of 49-14.

The Highlanders now possess a 7-3 record. They play next when they host Floyd County for a Three Rivers contest on Friday, November 11. Glenvar will play a Buffaloes squad coming off a 34-23 league win over Carroll County (Hillsville, VA). The Buffaloes record now stands at 7-3.

Coming up next, the Spartans play the Grayson County Blue Devils (Independence, VA) in a Mountain Empire contest, on Friday, November 11. Giles will attempt to advance on its 4-6 season record. The Blue Devils go into the contest with a 8-2 record after their 31-14 league loss to Galax (Galax, VA).
