The Newton County Cougars basketball team (Decatur, MS), was routed 78-53 in Tuesday's non-league challenge with the visiting Neshoba Central Rockets (Philadelphia, MS)

The Rockets (1-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Northwest Rankin (Brandon, MS). The Cougars come into the non-league challenge with a 0-0 record.

In their next game, the Cougars encounter the Philadelphia Tornadoes (Philadelphia, MS) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, November 10.
