In Monday's non-league outing, the Hertford County Bears (Ahoskie, NC) basketball squad beat the visiting Washington County Panthers (Plymouth, NC), by a count of 49-36.

The Bears (1-1) will now prepare for their outing against Gates County (Gatesville, NC). The Red Barons go into the non-league outing with a 2-3 record. In their last outing, Gates County was topped by Manteo (Manteo, NC), 55-23, in a non-league outing.
