The Harlingen South Hawks (Harlingen, TX) basketball nipped the host Veterans Memorial Chargers (Brownsville, TX), 34-31 in Tuesday's league test.

The Hawks (11-7) will now prepare for their test against Mercedes (Mercedes, TX). The Tigers go into the 5A Region IV District 32 test with a 10-5 record.

The Chargers now own a 15-5 record. They play next when they travel to Porter for a 5A Region IV District 32 test on Friday, December 8. Veterans Memorial will encounter a Cowboys squad coming off a 36-15 league loss to Weslaco East (Weslaco, TX). The Cowboys record now stands at 1-9.
