Texas High School Basketball - Port Isabel holds off Roma
December 6, 2024: Port Isabel, TX 78578 The Port Isabel Tarpons basketball team scored 49 points and limited the visiting Roma Gladiators to 44 in the Tarpons non-league triumph on Friday.
The Tarpons now possess a 1-6 record. They play next when they travel to Miller for a non-league game on Thursday, December 12. Port Isabel will confront a Buccaneers team coming off a 73-34 non-league loss to Bishop (Bishop, TX). The Buccaneers record now stands at 0-5.
With the loss, Roma falls to 2-10 on the campaign. The Gladiators host Juarez-Lincoln (La Joya, TX) to confront the Huskies in a 5A Region IV District 30 game on Tuesday, December 10. The Huskies go into the game with a record of 0-8. Juarez-Lincoln lost 90-25 in their recent non-league game against La Joya (La Joya, TX)
