Anahuac Panthers (Anahuac, TX) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Buna Cougars (Buna, TX), 56-49 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Anahuac upgrades its record to 8-2 on the season. The Panthers travel to Lufkin (Lufkin, TX) to clash with the Panthers in a non-league bout on Friday, December 9. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 10-0. Lufkin won 88-37 in their recent non-league bout against Buna (Buna, TX)

Next up, the Cougars clash with the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bears (Orange, TX) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 9. Buna will attempt to upgrade on its 6-6 season record. The Bears go into the bout with a 11-1 record after their 50-39 non-league win over Nederland (Nederland, TX).
