December 9, 2022: Roseburg, OR 97470 Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Illinois Valley Cougars (Cave Junction, OR) and the host Umpqua Valley Christian Monarchs (Roseburg, OR), saw Illinois Valley's basketball squad hold off Umpqua Valley Christian by a tally of 56-55.
With the victory, Illinois Valley improves its record to 2-2 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to East Linn Christian Academy (Lebanon, OR) to confront the Eagles in a 2A Valley Coast challenge on Tuesday, December 20. The Eagles come into the challenge with a record of 4-0.
Next up, the Monarchs confront the Monroe Dragons (Monroe, OR) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, December 13. Umpqua Valley Christian will attempt to improve on its 1-3 season record.
