Ely Timberwolves (Ely, MN) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Nashwauk-Keewatin Spartans (Nashwauk, MN), 66-31 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Ely upgrades its record to 1-0 on the season. The Timberwolves travel to Two Harbors (Two Harbors, MN) to clash with the Agates in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 3.
