December 1, 2022: Wynne, AR 72396 Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Newport Greyhounds (Newport, AR) and the host Wynne Yellowjackets (Wynne, AR), saw Newport's basketball squad hold off Wynne by a tally of 36-31.
With the victory, Newport improves its record to 5-3 on the campaign. The Greyhounds travel to Baptist Prep (Little Rock, AR) to play the Eagles in a non-league challenge on Thursday, December 1. The Eagles come into the challenge with a record of 4-0. Baptist Prep won 62-42 in their recent non-league challenge against Rivercrest (Wilson, AR)
Next up, the Yellowjackets play the Brookland Bearcats (Brookland, AR) in a 4A Region 3 challenge, on Tuesday, December 6. Wynne will attempt to improve on its 1-5 season record. The Bearcats come into the challenge with a 3-2 record after their 66-38 non-league win over Manila (Manila, AR).
