The Gilmer Bobcats (Ellijay, GA) basketball nipped the host Sonoraville Phoenix (Calhoun, GA), 59-52 in Friday's non-league test.

The Bobcats (2-2) will now prepare for their test against Pickens (Jasper, GA). The Dragons go into the AAA Region 7 test with a 5-0 record. In their last test, Pickens got by Fannin County (Blue Ridge, GA), 56-29, in a non-league test.

The Phoenix now own a 0-5 record. They play next when they travel to Cass for a non-league test on Tuesday, December 5. Sonoraville will encounter a Colonels squad coming off a 67-51 non-league win over Lithia Springs (Lithia Springs, GA). The Colonels record now stands at 3-1.
