Hueytown Golden Gophers (Hueytown, AL) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the host Carver Birmingham Rams (Birmingham, AL), 73-38 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Hueytown upgrades its record to 7-2 on the campaign. The Golden Gophers travel to Greenforest (Decatur, GA) to play the Eagles in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 11. The Eagles come into the bout with a record of 4-4. Greenforest lost 85-62 in their recent non-league bout against Newton (Covington, GA)

Next up, the Rams play the Cullman Bearcats (Cullman, AL) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 14. Carver Birmingham will attempt to upgrade on its 1-11 season record. The Bearcats come into the bout with a 7-0 record after their 79-68 non-league win over Winfield (Winfield, AL).
