The Pickens County Tornadoes basketball team scored 71 points and held the host South Lamar Stallions to 63 in the Tornadoes league triumph on Friday.

The Tornadoes now sport a 2-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Holy Spirit Catholic for a 1A Area 9 contest on Monday, December 13. Pickens County will battle a Saints team coming off a 61-46 non-league loss to Paul W. Bryant (Cottondale, AL). The Saints record now stands at 4-5.

The Stallions (4-1) will now prepare for their contest against Gordo (Gordo, AL). The Green Wave enter the non-league contest with a 0-1 record.
