In Saturday's non-league match, the host Southmoreland Scotties basketball team scored a tight 83-80 triumph over the Derry Trojans.

In their next game, the Scotties meet the Yough Cougars (Herminie, PA) in a non-league match, on Tuesday, December 13. Southmoreland will attempt to better on its 3-0 season record. The Cougars enter the match with a 5-1 record after their 48-40 non-league win over Norwin (North Huntingdon, PA).

With the defeat, Derry moves to 4-3 on the year. The Trojans host Freeport (Freeport, PA) to meet the Yellowjackets in a non-league match on Tuesday, December 13.
