In Saturday's non-league outing, the Mingo Central Miners (Matewan, WV) basketball squad nipped the host Tolsia Rebels (Fort Gay, WV), by a margin of 52-51.

The Miners (2-0) will now prepare for their outing against Chapmanville Regional (Chapmanville, WV). The Tigers go into the Cardinal outing with a 1-0 record. In their last outing, Chapmanville Regional got by Elkins (Elkins, WV), 52-40, in a non-league outing.
